Temporary Shoes Store
K11 Musea, Hong Kong, China
With The Rare Walk, Loro Piana opens its first store dedicated to shoes in Asia, at the newely built K11 Musea mall in Hong Kong.
The store concept draws on the brand’s heritage of meticulous dedication to quality in producing the world's finest cashmere as well as on Hong Kong’s rich history with its unique bamboo scaffolding construction technique.
By Unfolding the story of how Hong Kong was built, the design represents a tribute to local creativity and culture, conveying how modernity has been built from tradition. Using the technology and strength of a plant when creating the store concept pays homage to Loro Piana's craftmanship and expertise in nurturing innovation from nature.
At the launch of The Rare Walk temporary store in New York's Meatpacking District in 2019, Parsons Dance produced a choreography with dancers wearing Loro Piana's shoe 'Summer Walk'. For the Hong Kong edition, another short film was shot, with dancers performing around bamboo elements, echoing local characteristics.
Half-way through its opening period, the temporary store changed it entire appearance when all cashmere elements turned from Loro Piana's signature kummel-colour into a fresh navy blue.
