<image:title>Projects - LORO PIANA<br>Temporary Shoes Store<br>Meatpacking District, New York, USA</image:title>
<image:caption>In May 2019, Loro Piana opened "The Rare Walk" in New York's Meatpacking district, its first ever store dedicated to footwear. Scheduled to close after one month, the temporary store lasted for almost one year. We designed the interior to surround customers by softness and warmth, while maintaining a lively atmosphere. Dunes of threads - onto whose tips selected shoes rest - remind of the Inner Mongolian landscapes, where Loro Piana sources its fine cashmere. A mirrored room with neon shoes reflects the mood of New York's downtown, together with an interior garden, that replicates the nearby High Line park with it's foliage and its design elements. The overall store design is a tribute to the neighbourhood and to Loro Piana's passion towards nature. Task: Creative Design & Design Development</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - FENDI<br>Transitional Concept Store<br>SKP-S, Beijing, China</image:title>
<image:caption>SKP-S disrupts the common idea of department stores by combining fashion and art in an immersive museum-like retail space, where extensive non-commercial areas are dedicated to constantly changing installations. For Fendi, we designed a versatile transformative space, to create experiences beyond basic retail. Embedded in the architectural details, the brand's DNA is at the project's core, while remaining subtle enough to function as a stage for seasonal merchandising animations. The concept easily adapts to take-overs and pop-in activations, such as Fendi's collaborations with Joshua Vides and Nicki Minaj. The store's shell is a contemporary interpretation of Rome's architecture, where selected materials such as Carrara and Nero Marquina marbles reflect Fendi's history and presence at the same time, while its iconic textures and Karl Lagerfeld's 'Astuccio' pattern are subtly embedded into the overall design. <image:title>Projects - DIOR<br>Homme Display Tools<br>World Wide Roll-Out</image:title>
<image:caption>For the opening of Dior's new Paris flagship store at Rue Saint-Honoré, the men's collection is supported by a series of new display tools, designed to enhance the large new product range. The concept is flexible and aims to raise and elevate the merchandise from shelves and tables, allowing visual merchandisers to play with cross-category compositions. Entirely made of recycled and recyclable materials, the display tools keep a low environmental footprint. Since 2020, Dior displays its collections, designed by Kim Jones in collaboration with artist and designers such as Daniel Arsham, Hajime Sorayama, Shawn Stussy and Kenny Scharf with these display tools, which reinvents Dior's codes, while maintaining the brand's passion for art and creative freedom. <image:title>Projects - DIOR <br>Seongsu Concept Store<br>Seoul, South Korea</image:title>
<image:caption>We supported Dior's VM team on their giant project in the up-and-coming Seongsu area of Seoul. The former centre of shoe production is now a popular area where local fashion brands repurpose factories into pop-up shops and where fancy restaurants and cafés set in between car body workshops, wholesalers and abbandoned shipping containers. Within this neighbourhood of concrete and steel, the newely constructed building represents Dior's iconic Parisian facade in Avenue Montaigne. Made of metal mesh and equipped with a complex lighting system, the facade shifts from transparency to near opacity depending on the time of day, unvealing the internal vitroues boutique gradually. Merging Korean and French cultures in one project, the interior features works of Korean designers Kwangho Lee's and Jeonghwa Seo's, and renowned agency D'Strict contibuted with a digital animation inside Dior's own Cafè. The building itself is set within a mix of Asian and European plant species, making it a lush and colourful spot in the area. <image:title>Projects - FENDI<br>Concept Store<br>Omotesando, Tokyo, Japan</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2017, Fendi opened a temporary store in Omotesando, Tokyo's most fashionable, intellectual and young retail area. Situated between Harajuku and Cat Street, the interior conceptually merges the area's typically industrial style with dynamic design features at the highest level of creativity, tradition, craftsmanship and refinement. The façade is a contemporary interpretation of Fendi's headquarters in Rome, with thousands of hand-made Murano glass bricks protruding from a travertine clad - a traditional Italian architectural element. Combined with selected historical Fendi miniature looks placed inside minimalistic arches, this storefront stands out for its fresh and colourful appearance. A winding tree, collected by plant hunter Seijun Nishihata in Japan's inner Sasayama prefecture, decorates the staircase connecting the lower Women's floor with the upper Men's area. It is accompanied by a hand-crafted Ikebana installation descending the void. Task: Design Development & Project Management</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - FENDI<br>Mega Pop-Up Store<br>Ginza Chuo-Dori, Tokyo, Japan</image:title>
<image:caption>For the celebration of its 50th anniversary in Japan, Fendi opens a unique boutique in Ginza, Tokyo, one of the world's most bustling and thriving shopping areas. As the first full-category store in Japan for Fendi, its three floors are filled with playfulness and acts as a one-of-a-kind Mega Pop-Up Shop. The store's design expresses Fendi's and Japan's shared values, where culture is deeply rooted in the respect for traditional craftsmanship and the passion for creativity and innovation. While the facade reinterprets Rome's Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana - now Fendi's headquarter - the interior is a mix of modern and contemporary interpretation of both Rome's and Tokyo's architecture and innovative, creative characters. Customers are able to discover accessories and leathergoods cheerfully displayed in Italian Piaggio Ape cars on the ground floor, while an oversized boom box on the men's upper floor is used to display headphones designed by Fendi in collaboration with Beats By Dre. <image:title>Projects - ROYAL SALUTE<br>Virtual Retail Experience<br>Metaverse</image:title>
<image:caption>Our first virtual retail project in collaboration with MONOGRID involved us in designing immersive 360° spaces for premium whisky brand Royal Salute. The digital environments, inspired by private clubs, invite customers to explore the three-dimensional world of Royal Salute, with interactive hotspots that unlock stories, product information and value adding content. Landing at the gate of a rural cottage in Scotland, visitors are invited to access the world of Royal Salute with exciting interiors that tell the stories behind selected whisky blends. We designed a secret bar with the intriguing atmosphere of a private club, for customers to discover selected whiskies and cocktail recipes at the bar, while warm materials and a subtle light setting create intimacy and expectation at the same time. For the special edition whisky Polo Estancia, a circular interior with wide openings towards the Argentinian Pampas is an hommage to Argentinian horse ranches hosting Polo clubs, while a room full of oriental sculptures and decorations, inspired by the artistic illustration of the very same label, function as backdrop for The CNY Edition. <image:title>Projects - LORO PIANA<br>Temporary Store Sanya Swire<br>Sanya, Hainan, China</image:title>
<image:caption>For Loro Piana's new opening in Sanya, China, we designed a temporary store in-line with the architectural concept that we developed earlier in 2023. Subtle colour tones and soft materials govern the ambiences, with wood essences and Loro Piana Interiors' own wallpapers creating a warm, yet fresh atmosphere. At the entrance of this boutique the main focus is on leather goods and accessories. For this latter category, a flexible wall system was created, where a wide range of product specific tools allow for the Visual Merchandising department to adjust the display according to collections varying needs. The main room has a round shape, to create an enveloping ambience which emphasises the warmth and softness of Loro Piana's ready-to-wear collections and light-weight shoes. Here, freestanding fixtures allow for a flexible set-ups, and exchangable backpanels enable future visual animations and refreshes. With their soft shapes, refined brass details and linen panels, the freestanding fixtures appear light and subtle, and support the display of garments visually and structurally, while taking a back seat. The finishes for the Men's area were chosen with slightly darker tones, where distinct green and brown hues match Loro Piana's institutional colours. Original furniture from the 1950's and 1960's, designed by Jens Quistgaard and Illum Wikkelsø merge smoothly into the architectural framework, giving a mid-century feel to this intimate space. <image:title>Projects - DIOR<br>Dior's Carousel of Dreams at Saks Fifth Avenue<br>New York, USA</image:title>
<image:caption>Together with partners and collaborators, we dedicated our design skills to developing a special installation for Christian Dior Couture 's Carousel of Dreams at Saks. For over six month, we worked with Dior's VM team to transform an artistic motif and design intent into a three-dimensional decoration equipped with programmable LED's. Over 25 designers were involved to develop fourty different design elements in record-breaking time. Starting from hand-drawn design sketches in May 2023, design details, material charachteristics, production methods and light effects were defined, tested and refined, for a complete mechanically engineered production to be launched in August of the same year. It has been an exciting journey, and having been invited to support Dior's VM team to make this happen, has been a great honour. The concept of 'holiday installation' has once again been redefined.
